Jim is a college student working nights as a houseman in a backgammon club. Jim is also a backgammon pro. He's assigned to play against a female member of the club, who has bet herself against $500 worth of chips. Backgammon pro plays as a professional, working within the odds. The female member plays an emotional game. The problem with playing an emotional game is that there's an item called a doubling cube that's used in backgammon. A player can double the player's opponent and play the game for two times, four times, eight times or whatever the original bet. The club limit for an original bet is $100. If the female member wins, she can wind up money ahead, with the thrill of knowing what she risked.
